Your privacy is very important to Now-Cast Corp. (“we” or “us”). In order to best protect your information, we have adopted this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) which applies to any and all information about you that we collect. It is important to note that this Privacy Policy only applies to information that we collect through Now-Cast.com (and any related websites that we own and control)(the “Website”). Therefore, if you click any links on the Website that lead to websites owned or operated by third parties or if you leave the Website in any other way, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. You should review the privacy policies adopted by those third parties to ensure that you know what information is being collected and for what it is being used. Also note that the Website is not directed at children under the age of 13 years.
Some of the information we collect is Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”). PII, collected only with your consent, may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, fax number, occupation, credit card and other payment information and any other information that you provide to us that is linked to your identity. We will only collect PII that is relevant to the services that we provide and the maintenance of the Website. This may occur, for example, in connection with subscribing to any of our services, signing up to receive newsletters, responses you provide to survey questions, inquiries you may make through the Website and any other information you provide to us online. Remember that you always have the option not to provide information by choosing not to use the Website or by not using the particular feature of the Website for which the information is being collected.
We also collect PII in connection with attempts to log onto your account on the Website and the actions you take while logged on. This PII may include, for example, information pertaining to any searches you conduct, any pages you visit while logged on and any other interactions that you may have with our system while you are logged on.
We may also collect information through the use of “cookies” and “local shared objects” (also known as “Flash cookies”). Cookies are small pieces data that are stored on your computer by your browser. This data helps the Website manage your experience while you visit and helps us determine whether you are a first-time visitor. You can always tell your Internet browser that you don’t want to have any cookies downloaded to your computer. Check with the manufacturer of your particular browser to find out how. Before you do however, note that deleting cookies or directing your browser to refuse them may limit your ability to use certain portions of the Website that require cookies to function. We may also use Flash cookies to store your preferences and display personalized content to you based upon what you have viewed on prior visits. These differ from normal cookies by virtue of the amount and type of data they store. Also, your browser cannot delete these cookies. You can learn how to manage Flash cookies here: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html#117118. Lastly, third parties who partner with us to display advertising may also use cookies or Flash cookies to collect or store data.
To the extent we deliver content to you via email in a manner subject to any restrictions, we may collect information about you via tracking mechanisms that enable us to see whether you are complying with those restrictions. For instance, we may collect information about whether you have forwarded this content to others, including IP address or other email address information.
The last form of information we may collect is non-personally identifying information. We may also compile this data to enable statistical analysis of our products and services that would be used internally or with external assistance to make improvements to the Website. We may also provide this information to third parties including advertisers. Remember though that this information is not personally identifiable.
We may use the information we collect for a number of purposes. We may also use your information to communicate with you about products and services that we think may interest you. However, we will always give you the opportunity to opt out of receiving such communications as well as any newsletter for which you sign up. We may also combine your information with third party data for marketing purposes.
- With your consent. We may transmit your information to a third party when you give us permission to do so. This may occur when we complete a transaction that you request or as permitted by your or your organization’s agreement with us (if any). This also may happen when you make your information publicly available by posting on our forums, blogs or in creating your personal profile (if you chose to). Because this information is publicly available, we cannot control how other users treat it and we ask that you exercise care in deciding what information you chose to share.
- If we are acquired by another company. If another company acquires Now-Cast Corp., that company will take on all responsibility for the personal information we collect and it will assume all rights and obligations with respect to that information. Should this happen, the acquiring company may develop its own policy with respect to your information.
- If we are required to disclose information by law.
